Tracks
We only use high-quality industry standard tracks for all of our installation projects. Our curtains are larger and heavier than domestic curtains so we need to make sure the tracks are still able to provide smooth, fast, easy operation. There are so many different pulleys, swivel-arms, curved tracks and add-ons your imagination is the limit. Many of our customers have existing curtain tracks - no problem, we carry spare parts for most track types and can service or fix almost any track. If you wish to modify, extend or upgrade a track we can do that too! For example we recently upgraded a venue from walkalong operation to a hand winch in just two hours.
We also install a smaller track system from Silentgliss, ideal for smaller or lighter curtains.
We often use it in Foyers and over Windows.
Operation
The majority of our installations are Handline or Winch, here are the options:Handline - This is when a loop of cord hangs down at one end of the track and is kept under tension either by a weighted pulley or one fixed to the floor. Pulling on one cord opens, and the other cord closes the curtains.
Walkalong - No cord or wire, the curtains are free to move along the track. Obviously very economical but not always ideal in the theatre environment.
Hand Winch - A steel wire is used and wrapped around a hand-operated winch mounted to the floor or wall. More expensive than a handline but offers smoother opening and closing, especially on longer runs.
Electric Drive - Similar to above but powered by an electric motor. Fast and smooth with wired remotes allowing you to operate the curtains from almost anywhere - even your existing lighting desk (Using a DMX interface).
